Heartbeat Features Consent & Consumer Health Data Notice

This Heartbeat Features Consent & Consumer Health Data Notice (“Notice”) explains what you consent to when you use heartbeat features in Couple Pulse and how we handle heartbeat-related data. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms.
1) Who We Are

2) What Heartbeat Features Do
Couple Pulse includes heartbeat features designed for a couple experience (for example, synchronized haptics and optional saved heartbeat recordings).
Not medical use: Couple Pulse is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent any disease or medical condition.
3) What Data Is Involved
When you use heartbeat features, the Service may process the following categories of data:
A) Heartbeat timing data (derived)
- Derived heartbeat timing (timing events / timing sequence) generated to provide the experience.
B) Live Sharing data (optional)
If you choose to use Live Sharing, heartbeat timing events are transmitted to your linked partner in real time so their device can play synchronized haptics.
C) Saved heartbeat recording data (optional)
If you save a heartbeat recording, we may store:
- a derived timing sequence needed for replay, and
- basic metadata you provide (for example, title and timestamp).
D) What we do not store from the measurement input
- We do not store or upload raw camera video or raw camera frames used for heartbeat measurement.
4) Categories of Sources (Where the Data Comes From)
- From you / your device during use: timing signals generated while you use heartbeat features.
- Derived by us: timing events/sequences computed from measurement input.
- From your linked partner: when your partner uses Live Sharing with you, you receive their timing events.
5) Your Consents
Some laws require opt-in consent before collecting or sharing consumer health data, and require separate consent for collection vs. sharing.
Consent 1 — Processing heartbeat timing (required to use heartbeat features)
When you agree in-app, you consent to Couple Pulse processing heartbeat timing data to:
- provide heartbeat features you request (including saved recordings if you choose to save), and
- secure and maintain the Service (for example, prevent abuse and troubleshoot issues related to heartbeat features).
Consent 2 — Sharing heartbeat timing with your linked partner
When you agree in-app, you consent to Couple Pulse sharing heartbeat timing events with your linked partner when you choose to use Live Sharing.
What we disclose at the time we request consent (summary):
- Categories collected/shared: heartbeat timing data; saved recording timing sequence + metadata (if saved); Live Sharing timing events.
- Purposes: provide heartbeat features; enable Live Sharing; security and reliability.
- Categories of entities shared with: your linked partner (Live Sharing), service providers (hosting/operations), and legal/safety recipients where required.
6) How to Withdraw Consent
You can withdraw consent at any time in the app:
- Settings → [Heartbeat Consent]
Withdrawing consent:
- stops future heartbeat timing processing for heartbeat features (if you withdraw Consent 1), and/or
- stops future Live Sharing of timing events (if you withdraw Consent 2).
Withdrawal stops future heartbeat processing and/or Live Sharing. To delete saved data, see our Privacy Policy or request deletion of heartbeat recordings through email: support@couplespaceinc.com, Subject line: “Heartbeat Data Request”.
7) How We Share Heartbeat-Related Data (and With Whom)
We do not sell consumer health data.
We may share heartbeat-related data only as needed:
1. Your linked partner (Live Sharing): timing events are shared with your linked partner in real time when you use Live Sharing.
2. Service providers / processors: we use third-party providers to operate the Service (for example, hosting, authentication, databases, storage, real-time messaging, and security). These providers process data on our instructions.
3. Legal and safety: we may disclose information if necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce our Terms, or protect users and the Service.
Affiliates: Couple Space Inc. currently has no affiliates.
8) No Sale of Consumer Health Data
We do not sell consumer health data.
If we ever did, where required by law we would request a separate authorization and would not condition access to the Service on signing such authorization.
9) Retention and Deletion Requests
Retention is described in our Privacy Policy.
Deletion requests (consumer health data)
If you request deletion of consumer health data and we authenticate your request, we will delete it from our records.
If data is stored in archived or backup systems, deletion may be delayed to enable restoration, subject to applicable law and our backup schedules.
10) Your Rights and How to Exercise Them

We may need to verify your identity to process your request.
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to:
- access your personal data
- correct it
- request deletion
- withdraw consent
- restrict or object to processing
- data portability
11) International Transfers
Couple Pulse may be used globally. Your information may be processed and stored in countries other than where you live, which may have different data protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
12) Security
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect heartbeat-related data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
13) Changes to This Notice
We may update this Notice from time to time. We will update the “Last Updated” date above and provide additional notice where required by law.
